Since launching its first-generation 50-horsepower high-clearance boom sprayer back in 2011, Yuhe has drawn on the exterior design concepts of rice sprayers manufactured in Japan and South Korea. Tailored to the domestic agronomic planting standards for rice, wheat, corn and other staple crops across China, this self-propelled agricultural sprayer was upgraded with a more powerful engine and mechanical transmission structure. The design successfully boosted output torque and field trafficability, laying a solid foundation for its large-scale market promotion and widespread field application. Nevertheless, the initial product design overlooked a critical operational scenario: operators needed to place the water inlet hose into the liquid medicine tank for water filling work, yet the machine was not equipped with an exclusive standing footstep. Operators had to stand on the narrow cab footrest to complete water adding tasks, which brought obvious inconvenience and potential safety hazards during daily field operations.
As end-users continuously raised higher demands for operating comfort and safety, Yuhe focused more on human-centered operation experience and optimized the structure of its self-propelled agricultural sprayer. An independent standing and walking platform equipped with safety guardrails was installed on one side of the machine. Operators can conveniently climb onto this platform via the boarding ladder. The guardrail, standing over one meter tall, effectively prevents operators from slipping or falling off the equipment while filling liquid pesticides or conducting routine inspections, greatly lifting overall operational safety for both self-propelled and hydraulic sprayer models in the product lineup.
After long-term field deployment and market feedback collection, new pain points were collected from users. Operators with smaller foot sizes were prone to ankle sprains when applying force on the original strip-shaped footplates.
