Pre-Use Adjustment Steps for Self-Propelled Boom Sprayers

Self-propelled boom sprayers require simple adjustments after prolonged storage or initial use. Based on field spraying requirements, Yuhe Company recommends the following adjustment steps:

1. Before operating the self-propelled sprayer, first inspect the chemical solution system: Fill the tank with water, start the engine, and perform a spray test to check for leaks. Inspect all components of the boom sprayer for loose fittings.

2. Inspect nozzle and boom installation and adjustment: Measure the nozzle height above ground or crops; adjust the nozzle spray pattern and boom to tilt 5–10 degrees to one side.

3. Single nozzle spray volume measurement: Fill the tank with water, park on level ground, and start the machine. Set constant pressure and throttle. After normal spraying commences, collect water from each nozzle into a container for one minute. Measure with a measuring cup; nozzle-to-nozzle variation must not exceed 5%.

4. Spray Volume Adjustment: Based on the design speed, measure the actual machine travel speed over a 100-meter distance. Calculate the total spray volume per minute by summing the measured flow rates of each nozzle. Use the formula to determine the actual spray volume per hectare. If the measured volume differs significantly from the design volume, adjust the speed: increasing speed reduces spray volume, while decreasing speed increases it.
